The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their wealthier peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantaged reaches the pupils who need it most. The Pupil Premium is allocated to children from low-income families who are currently or in the last 6 years known to be eligible for FSM in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings and children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months.
The funding is being used in the following ways:
To provide additional bespoke individual or small group work for eligible children who need a boost to their learning in order to reach their potential.

We continually evaluate the effect of this expenditure on educational attainment by analysis of our ongoing and half termly assessment systems to ensure we are utilising it to its maximum benefit. These evaluations will be published annually.
